DOCUMENTARY META-NOVEL · COBURG

ZINGARACOBURG

English translation in preparation

Can a character created by a writer be reborn inside real life?

Azad’s journey begins in Reutlingen, where a glance toward Helen in the bakery opposite his workplace awakens the image of the Sumerian goddess Inanna and sets his novel Mad in motion.

The road later turns through a Newroz gathering in Hanover toward Coburg, where migration, memory, love and the act of writing begin to merge with lived experience.

The missing color in the whole

The foreword argues that the unresolved suffering of one human being ultimately belongs to humanity as a whole. Zingara is presented not merely as a fictional figure but as a missing color in the human picture and a measure of civilization.

The author explicitly thanks Nihal Olgun, Serhat Yalçın and the friends who helped bring the work into the open.

The original text then tells the reader that the events were lived, witnessed and recorded; names of real people were changed for justified reasons.

“After being kept hidden for twenty-two years because of many justified concerns, the time has come for this novel to come into the light.”

About the Novel

A novel
about the birth
of a novel

The story begins in Reutlingen. Azad works in a small food shop and watches Helen in the bakery opposite. In her he recognizes the eyes of Inanna, and the encounter becomes part of the creative ignition behind Mad.

At the same time, Azad carries the daily burdens of migrants and refugees around him: official letters, translation, appointments, school matters, money and political responsibility. Everyone expects him to serve a role; he longs to become simply Azad again and to write.

After Newroz in Hanover, the journey shifts toward Coburg. Sofi, Ali, Şengül and the compact city become a new stage where literature and lived experience increasingly mirror and transform one another.
